The Lock down!! recipe2
Hi everyone,
On the 6th day of lock down, people don't seem to be taking this seriously. As I peep through my window it is like just another holiday because people are with children playing on roads. Neighbours gathering to chit chat. You turn on the TV you can see migrating labourers... politicians playing yet another blame game and the virus is spreading it's tentacles wider and wider day by day, as though undeterred by all the chaos and casualties caused by it.
But it's during the hardest of times we get to know the strength and love we are capable of providing.
So, for those staying at home, here is another recipe. Eat healthy, stay safe and let's fight together.
Shashi Bhaskar.

Doddapatre (Mexican mint leaves) Tambuli
(A traditional havyaka summer dish)
It is a must-have in every Havyaka Brahmin's backyard having an Ajwain-like smell. It is used to cure cold and cough.
The tambuli:
For 3-4 people you need 10 -12 medium sized doddapatre leaves and a bowl of freshly grated coconut as main ingredients.
Cumin, sesame, pepper, asafoetida, salt, jaggery and lemon are also needed
To start with, we have to fry 4-5 pepper seeds, one table spoon cumin and half table spoon sesame in one table spoon coconut oil. When sesame starts to splutter, add thoroughly washed Mexican mint leaves and shallow fry them. Later, allow it to cool.
Now season using a spoonful of coconut oil, little cumin, mustard and a pinch of asafoetida. Add salt, jaggery powder and lemon according to taste. You can have this with hot rice or simply drink it.
Tasty and healthy. One should try
